Hilda was one of the most fun and fantastic shows to premiere last year. The series premiered on Netflix back in September with a delightful first season. Today, Netflix announced that the series will return for its second season sometime next year.
The news came out via Hilda’s Twitter account. Hilda is based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Luke Pearson. Netflix previously announced at NYCC that the show was renewed, though no release date was mentioned. While there’s still no specific date, we now know when to expect the return.

If you haven’t watched the first season, treat yourself to the first thirteen episodes currently streaming. Hilda is a gorgeously animated series, with a lot of heart. If you need more of a Hilda fix before 2020, you can also check out the mobile game, Hilda Creatures, or read the graphic novel source series.
The series follows the journey of a fearless blue-haired girl as she travels from her home in a vast magical wilderness full of elves and giants to the bustling city of Trolberg, where she makes new friends and discovers mysterious creatures who are stranger –and sometimes more dangerous– than she ever expected.
