Shankar Announces DEVIL MAY CRY Animated Series at Netflix

A ‘Bootleg Multiverse’ from Adi Shankar will now feature a Devil May Cry animated adaptation to join Castlevania, both at Netflix.

Turns out, those rumors that were previously floating around that we were possibly going to get a The Legend of Zelda series, were just that. Rumors (sigh). However, this is equally as exciting news. Shankar has purchased the television rights to the game to ensure his creative freedom with the series and also announced that the upcoming show will take place in the same multiverse as Castlevania.

Not familiar with DMC? It’s a Capcom-developed IP that serves as an action-adventure, hack-and-slash, third-person adventure/horror video game series. The story centers on the main character, Dante, who is of both human and demonic origins (his father was the Black Knight Sparda), though with a noble goal of avenging his mother’s murder by exterminating demons.

No news yet on casting or a premiere date, but for those DMC diehards, Devil May Cry 5 is due out on March 8, 2019, on Xbox, Playstation and PC.
